Mataram, April 17, 2025 — The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Religious Studies (FUSA) at UIN Mataram reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence through the organization of a Scientific Discussion and Book Review titled "The History of Religions: Belief, Religion, and Culture within the Horizon of History." The event took place on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Theatre Room, 4th Floor, Research Center, UIN Mataram, starting at 08:30 AM until completion.
The event featured the book’s authors as key speakers: Dr. Kamarudin Zaelani, M.Ag – Author, Fitria Sabila – Author, M. Faisal Amin – Author. The book was reviewed by two distinguished lecturers: Dr. Dahlia Hidayati, M.Phil.I And Suparman Jayadi, M.Sos. Moderating the discussion was Warda Gusmayanti, a dedicated member of the FUSA academic community.
The book “Sejarah Agama-Agama” (The History of Religions) is a collaborative work exploring the historical development and dynamics of various religions, and how belief systems intersect with culture across time. Published by Pustaka Pelajar, the book is expected to serve as a vital academic reference for students and scholars in the field of religious and social studies.
The event was supported by several academic units within FUSA, including student organizations, research laboratories, and discussion communities.
The high enthusiasm from participants — ranging from students to lecturers and observers of religious studies — reflects the enduring relevance of scholarly inquiry into religion, especially within both academic and sociocultural contexts.
Through this event, the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Religious Studies at UIN Mataram continues to foster critical thinking, academic literacy, and the enrichment of knowledge in the study of religion.
